Dermamelan®

Melasma appears as an uneven and irregular brown-toned spot, usually located on the forehead, cheeks, bridge of the nose, and upper lip.
Its origin may be associated with several factors, generally related to hormonal imbalances; in fact, it occurs more frequently in women who take contraceptive pills, undergo hormone therapy, or are pregnant (chloasma gravidarum).

How does the treatment work?

The treatment consists of two phases: in-clinic and at-home. Correct execution of both is essential to achieve the desired result.

In the clinic, after assessing the depth with Wood's lamp, the Dermamelan mask is applied. After the time established by the doctor, based on the depth of the melasma, the mask is removed at home by the patient.

For the second phase, the patient will be provided with at-home use products in the clinic:

  • Depigmenting and regulating face cream that inhibits melanin synthesis in the melanocyte and regulates the known targets that cause overstimulation of the melanocyte.
  • Soothing and regenerating balm to restore nourishment and balance to skin that has undergone tissue renewal treatment.
  • Sun protection that guards against 131 UVB and 67 UVA rays and has a depigmenting action that regulates melanin synthesis, reinforcing the anti-spot preventive effect.

Features and benefits

The Dermamelan® treatment leads to the reduction and disappearance of melanin-originated spots by regulating the overproduction of melanin by melanocytes and thus controlling the recurrence of new spots over time.

  • Does not cause white spot appearance
  • Works by accelerating the cell renewal process, eliminating melanin deposits accumulated in the stratum corneum
  • Painless
  • Immediate recovery
  • Suitable for all skin phototypes
  • Suitable for all melanin-originated skin spots

When is the best time to undergo the treatment?

Melasma treatment with Dermamelan® should be done in autumn or winter.

Is the Dermamelan® treatment permanent?
Dermamelan® acts as a melanosome inhibitor, but does not completely suppress its activity. For this reason, it is necessary to monitor the evolution of the spots over time and establish a maintenance protocol accordingly.
